Geolocated Field Evidence Archive

ČOKA RAKITA ENDANGERED SPECIES AND NATURE

A mapped public-interest archive of freshwater life, field evidence, water disturbance and environmental records from Homolje.

The current archive contains only a small part of the materials recorded in the field. New photographs, videos and documentation are being added over time.

Important note

A partial archive, still growing

These materials represent only a small part of the field documentation recorded in Homolje. We are in the process of adding new materials, not only from the area near Čoka Rakita, Potaj Čuka and Tisnica, but also from Čoka Rakita itself and the wider Kučaj–Beljanica area.

The currently published archive was recorded by two volunteers. The wider community protecting Čoka Rakita holds terabytes of additional photographs, videos, field notes and documentation, which will be added over time.

Purpose

Why this archive exists

We are not biologists or certified experts in protected species. This archive publishes what was recorded during several days of field work.

The freshwater crayfish records are the most valuable biological materials currently presented here. Many other species shown in the archive may not be highly endangered, but together they reveal the diversity, sensitivity and ecological importance of this landscape.

This website is intended as an open archive for researchers, journalists, institutions, environmental organizations and citizens who may use these materials in efforts to protect this area.

Methodology

Evidence Collection Method

This archive is generated from original field photographs and public video records organized by evidence category. Where available, GPS coordinates are extracted from original EXIF/GPS metadata.

Each geolocated record links to a dedicated review page where the visual file and its mapped location can be examined together. Original uncompressed files should be preserved separately for formal review.

We hope that shareholders, company representatives, public authorities and international institutions will review the ecological significance of this landscape, support remediation of existing environmental impacts where they occurred, and prevent further irreversible damage in an ecologically valuable area.
